Yo me soy la ençina, courtly music from the Spanish Renaissance
La Enzina presents a fictitious epistolary exchange between the Catholic, Spanish poet and musician, Juan de la Encina (1468-1529), and his beloved, Dona Beatriz de Silva, friend of Queen Isabella I of Castile.
The programme, which features the most beautiful poetic and musical pieces of the Spanish Renaissance, alternates between song, music and text through which Juan de la Encina speaks to his lady and foreshadows the events of the following century in Spain, known today as the "Siglo de oro", the Golden Age.
