Haendel and Scarlatti met in Rome in 1708. The marked difference between these two geniuses was reflected in this piece: Haendel's exceptional vocals and vocal clarity (Mi palpita il cor) complemented Scarlatti's unconventional harmonies and sometimes ever-changing moods (Fille, già non parlo et Qual pensier, qual ardire).
Year after year the extraordinary vocals and solemn tone of counter-tenor, Max Emmanuel Cencic are more impressive and vivid as he presents this piece with pride and confidence.
